“I think if I was able to speak to a professional and they could given me a perspective that it wasn’t my fault, that I also wasn’t the only child in the world whose mom was sick. I didn’t know anybody whose mom was going through what my mom was going through. And so I felt very alone and resentful that I had to go through this. And so a big part of writing this book for me is there might be a boy out there or a young girl out there whose family members going through this and they might be resentful towards them and they might not understand. So just being able to know that somebody else is going through it, I think is very helpful.”
